Gareth "Gary" Ross served as an Infantry Fire Team Leader in the Active component of the US Army from 2004-2007. Prior to his position as a Fire Team leader, which he held during a deployment to the area of Iraq known as the Triangle of Death, Gary served in various capacities in the Infantry squad. These included squad designated marksman, grenadier, and machine gunner. Among his awards are the Combat Infantryman’s Badge and Army Commendation Medal.
Upon entering the civilian world, Gary became a performance coach and was mentored by some of the finest orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, and strength coaches in the country. He specializes in detailed coaching with an emphasis on post-rehabilitation and sports performance. That same intensely detailed style of coaching shapes his approach for firearms instruction. With a focused, hands on approach to firearms instruction Gary has worked with everyone from beginners to experienced shooters, tailoring his instruction based on student’s needs and goals.

“I wanted to ensure I could protect myself and my daughter when my husband wasn't around, so I wanted to learn how to handle a gun properly and get a concealed carry license. We were new to the area and my husband also wanted to get his license, so I decided to find a class. It was also close to his birthday, so it was a great gift idea. Initially, I was afraid and had a lot of questions, more than the average person, lol. I found Gary on a trainer's website and called. He was patient and informative and gave me great advice. All of this without booking an appointment. Gary also offered to do a private for me and my husband to make it a little more special, so I booked a class for myself and my husband. My husband is a gun enthusiast and knows a lot, so he was only coming along to get his CC License because it was required. However, once he met Gary, he was beyond impressed. Gary was able to keep a beginner like me and an expert like my husband engaged and actually excited to learn. I was terrified to take the written test, but Gay teaches in such a way that the information is so interesting it's easy to retain (I got a better score than my husband!).
My husband and I still talk about the tips Gary taught us about how to carry, unholster and aim. I was afraid to actually shoot; however, the target practice with the training pistol and Gary by my side gave me the confidence I needed to practice with the real gun. Gary's calm and supportive nature got me to where I needed to be. I trusted him, and I passed! I'm actually not a bad shooter, and I have come to enjoy it!
I highly recommend Gary as a trainer for the CWP class; whether you are a novice or an expert, he has you covered. Gary is a true expert with the most humble and down-to-earth personality.
